In short

  • These are the general terms for using any Compact app; each app also has a short annex with its own specifics.
  • You sign in through one Compact account and are responsible for keeping it secure.
  • You keep ownership of the content you put in; you grant us only the limited licence needed to run the service.
  • The service is provided as-is, and our liability is limited as set out below.
  • Swedish law applies. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer.

This summary is for convenience only; the full text below is what applies.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and {{LEGAL_ENTITY}} ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Compact family of apps and websites (each a "Service"). Each app also has a short annex covering what is specific to it; the annex and these general Terms apply together, and the annex controls if there is a conflict.

If you use a Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.

1. Acceptance and your Compact account

By creating or using an account, or by using a Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You access the Services through a single sign-on account (Compact Accounts). You are responsible for your account and for activity under it, and you agree to keep your credentials secure and to enable available security features where appropriate.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least {{MINIMUM_AGE}} years old to hold an account, and old enough under the law of your country to enter into these Terms. The Services are not directed at children (see the Privacy Policy). Where a Service is used by an organisation, the organisation is responsible for the people it invites.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe others' rights when using a Service;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to, disrupt, or overload the Services or their infrastructure;
  • reverse-engineer or circumvent security or licensing controls, except where the law expressly permits it;
  • upload malware, or use the Services to send spam or abusive content; or
  • use the Services to build a competing product by copying them.

We may suspend or limit access to protect the Services, other users, or ourselves from harm or abuse.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content and data you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, and transmit Your Content only as needed to operate and provide the Services to you (for example, to sync, back up, or display it, or — in Lagom — to send a receipt image to our OCR provider so it can be read). This licence ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, except for copies retained briefly in backups or as required by law.

You are responsible for having the rights to Your Content and for ensuring that entering personal data about other people complies with applicable law.

5. Intellectual property

The Services, including their software, design, and trademarks, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Except for the rights expressly granted to you (including any licence described in a product annex), these Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you.

6. Product-specific terms

The following annexes form part of these Terms for the relevant Service:

  • Stockr — licensing and local-first data ownership.
  • Stable — business (B2B) use, subscriptions, and data processing.
  • Lagom — subscriptions, expense-splitting, and AI output.
  • Compact — the marketing website.

7. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties (such as merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose). We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. This does not exclude any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data; and
  • our total liability arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to {{LIABILITY_CAP — e.g. the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, or SEK 5,000 where no fees were paid}}.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or mandatory rights you have as a consumer.

9. Term and termination

These Terms apply while you use a Service. You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue a Service (with reasonable notice where practicable). Provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive termination.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services or the law. We will post the updated version with a new version date and, where changes are material, provide additional notice or ask you to accept the new version. Your continued use after an update means you accept it.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of {{GOVERNING_LAW_VENUE — e.g. the courts of Sweden, with the District Court of Stockholm (Stockholms tingsrätt) as court of first instance}}. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may also have access to out-of-court dispute resolution (including the EU ODR platform).
